Maicon's Associates are highly experienced in the field of Combined Heat and Power generation in the range of 3.0 MWE to 250 MWE. Their specialist skills span both gas turbine and engine based systems in both simple and combined cycle formats. Services include feasibility and pre feasibility studies through front end design to detailed design, tendering and project implementation, commissioning and management. Gas turbine Know How and its control systems, is a specialist skill within Maicon.

Some examples of services provided include:

  • Feasibility Study for a 36 mw CHP scheme optimised for Tertiary Extraction in a Romanian oil field
  • Feasibility Study for a 4.0 mw CHP designed for Arjo Wiggins Paper mill in Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • Recommendations for the controls and systems for a domestic waste incineration plant for Dundee Energy Recycling Ltd. The plant comprised conveyor, processed fuel store, fluidised bed boiler, flue gas treatment system, emission monitoring systems and the central plant control system, together with supporting auxiliary plant.
  • Provided Expert Witness Services related to various aspects of a CHP project at BBC.
  • Provided Expert witness Services relating to failures in all areas of Combined Heat and Power systems supplying steam and electricity to hospitals in Australia
  • Prepared the technical comparison of RR Trent and GE LM6000 GTs for British Sugar, with final selection of LM6000
  • Retained as for involvement in site testing and commissioning of the overall plant control system and in particular the interface with the Gas Turbine, its generator and the grid.
  • Selection of the LM2500 for a CHP project at Roche Products, Dalry. Specified all control requirements for upgrading the existing plant and to integrate the new CHP plant.
