Anees Iqbal - ESCO Expert

Anees launched Maicon Associates Ltd. in 1998, as an independent consultancy primarily dedicated to provide technology transfer and training in Power Generation and Energy Services to countries of Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Financial issues relating to energy efficiency projects feature prominently in the services portfolio of Maicon.

Anees Iqbal was a Project Development Director at Symonds Power and Energy. Before that, he was the National Sales Director of Emstar Ltd., a wholly owned Energy Management subsidiary of Shell UK, and latterly Dalkia the multi national ESCO. Anees has promoted power projects in China, Italy, Argentina, Czech Republic, Romania, India and Taiwan. Prior to joining Shell, Anees was a principal consultant with W.S.Atkins and Partners.

Anees has been involved in energy consultancy relating to industrial, health and building sectors. He has worked for the Word Bank, the European Union, the UK dept of Energy, and various government ministries in Eastern Europe. Anees has had an extensive involvement in training and technology transfer under EU's Phare, Thermie and SAVE programmes. He has worked in such countries as Hungary, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Belarus, Poland and Romania.

He has chaired and spoken at many international conferences on Energy, Cogeneration, Third Party financing and ESCO development. He has a number of important technical publications under his name.
